Srijan Chattopadhyay

About me

I am Srijan Chattopadhyay (or, Chatterjee), a first-year PhD student in the Department of Statistics, University of Michigan, Ann-Arbor. Previously, I completed my Bachelor of Statistics (B.Stat) in 2024 and Master of Statistics (M.Stat) in 2026 at the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Kolkata.

In 2024, I worked in the Cancer Data Science Group at the Big Data Summer Institute, University of Michigan. My research interests include but not limited to causal inference, selective inference, randomization, and spatio-temporal statistics.

  1. Received the Nikhilesh Bhattacharya Memorial Gold Medal (at the 59th Convocation of ISI) for best performance in Statistics in the B.Stat. program (2021–2024), ISI Kolkata.
  2. Nominated for the D. Basu Gold Medal Talk for best student in B.Stat. (Hons.), 2021–2024 batch, ISI.
  3. Awarded prize money in all semesters of B.Stat., and all semesters of M.Stat. (till now).
  4. 2nd State Rank in Indian Olympiad Qualifier of Mathematics (IOQM), Mathematics Teachers’ Association.
  5. Selected for INMO Training Camp, HBCSE, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research.
  6. Selected for Junior Scholarship, Jagadis Bose National Science Talent Search (JBNSTS).
